Senior QMS Lead Job Irvine area,California USA,Quality Assurance

This person is responsible for managing, leading, advancing, revising, and maintaining the MDSI Quality Management System in accordance with the latest AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. This person will be responsible for training and coaching the MDSI QMS process owners on the latest standard requirements. Additionally, this person will create and manage the schedule for revising the QMS to the latest version of the standard, enforce the QMS requirements throughout the organization, and will be responsible for all internal and external audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintaining proficiency in the latest AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards requirements.

Championing revisions to the MDSI QMS.

Conducting QMS system gap assessments and analysis in accordance with the latest standards.

Leading and managing the schedule to revise and upgrade the QMS.

Mapping QMS processes as required.

Managing interpretations and training of the latest AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards across the organization.

Reviewing and approving departmental procedures, work instructions, and changes per standards.

Implementing QMS improvements.

Leading, coordinating, and managing third-party assessments and surveillances.

Managing the internal QMS audit program.

Ensuring customer-specific requirements are integrated into the QMS.

Enhancing the Supplier QMS and risk assessment audit program.

Reviewing and approving root cause and corrective actions related to QMS failures.

Ensuring MDSI compliance with customer quality clauses and requirements.

Ensuring counterfeit part compliance per AS-5553 standard.

Managing the GIDEP process.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Understanding continuous improvement processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external entities.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Willingness to travel as needed; primarily local.

Must be eligible for DoD Security Clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.

Education:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a minimum of 10 years of related experience and training. A lesser degree may be considered with equivalent work experience.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Quality Assurance or equivalent; extensive experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and leading a company to achieve AS9100 certification. Certified AS9100 lead auditor; prior third-party auditing experience is a plus.

Experience with ISO
14001, NADCAP, and FAA is advantageous.

Skills:

Self-motivated, proactive, strong reporting and communication skills, leadership in cross-functional teams, capable of coaching and conducting training sessions, hands-on approach to varied tasks.

Computer

Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Minitab, MS Access, and working knowledge of ERP systems.
