Shift: Days – 5 days x 8 hours (07:00 – 15:00)

- Provide perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical procedures, including general, orthopaedic, abdominal, gynecologic, and ophthalmologic cases.
- Pre‑evaluate patients, obtain informed consent, and perform anesthesia preparation and monitoring.
- Assist surgeons, scrub and restock instruments, and maintain a sterile field throughout each procedure.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Meditech and other institutional documentation systems.
- Monitor intra‑operative patient status, including cardiac and respiratory parameters, and respond to emergencies.
- Perform post‑operative care in the PACU, including pain management, wound assessment, and patient education.
- Adhere to infection control, radiation safety, universal protocol (time‑out), and specimen handling procedures.
- Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and post‑operative instructions.
- Minimum 2 years of operating room or acute care experience.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
- Proficiency in general OR nursing and proficiency in procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, laparoscopic‑assisted surgeries, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, orthopaedic joint replacement, gynecologic hysterectomy, cataract extraction, and related procedures.
- Experience with Meditech documentation system.
- Knowledge of infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, PACU recovery protocols, and universal protocol (time‑out).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and patient‑safety orientation.
- Experience in ambulatory OR settings, bronchoscopy, PEG tube placement, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, ophthalmic surgery, arthroscopic surgeries, orthopaedic surgeries, circumcision, and urologic procedures.
- Knowledge of emergency management (fire safety, latex allergy, malignant hyperthermia, laser safety, wound management).
- Experience with advanced laparoscopic instruments and endoscopic surgery.
- On‑call requirement: every third day and every third weekend, with call start at 3 pm and ending 7 am the following day.
- No float or weekend coverage required.
- Vaccination:
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemption allowed); COVID‑19 vaccine not required.
