City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world‑class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11‑acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care.

We are seeking experienced nurses for our 8‑bed Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC) at City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse III in the ETC you will provide compassionate care to oncology patients who are requiring urgent evaluation and intervention. This role is vital in addressing acute symptoms related to cancer, treatment side effects, and oncologic emergencies.
The Clinical Nurse III performs rapid assessments, triage, and stabilization with strong understanding of oncology pathophysiology and the unique needs of immunocompromised patients. You will collaborate closely with physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team, the Clinical Nurse ensure timely, individualized care that prioritizes both safety and the dignity of the patient.
The position requires clinical expertise, strong critical thinking, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to supporting patients and families.
As a successful candidate, you will:- Utilize the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care.
- Assess patient conditions, recognize early signs of complications, and elevate care when necessary, ensuring continuity of care through coordination with inpatient, outpatient, and palliative teams.
- Administer specialized medications, monitor treatment responses, and manage central lines and infusion devices.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the clinical information system and apply principles to patient documentation.
- Prioritize holistic care, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of the patients.
- Serve as a mentor and role model to new staff members.
- Delegate to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Integrate and practice according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
- In alignment with City of Hope mission and values, the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services vision and mission, and with continuous focus on the patient, family and community, carry out the nursing process, coordinate interdisciplinary care planning, and document according to standards, including validation of the patient and caregiver’s understanding of the plan of care and expected outcomes.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3–5 years related experience (urgent care or emergency room)
- Current CA Registered Nurse License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
