Responsibilities- Feed sheets at the feed station of a Sheetfed Offset Press with minimum trips.
- Ensure the proper ink and coatings are used for each job.
- Properly track all paper consumed for a given job and ensure unused paper is returned to the warehouse.
- Report any unsafe acts to Pressmen or Lead Pressmen on the shift.
- Troubleshoot feed station or paper-related issues and assist Pressmen during make-readies.
- Keep the press at 5S standards and be willing to learn other aspects of press operations.
- Additional duties as assigned by Pressmen or Pressroom Lead.
- Follow all plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to SQF.
- Report potentially unsafe conditions to an authority to record or correct the situation.
- Participate in SQF root cause and corrective actions as required.
- Follow procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to an authority as needed.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of 3 months printing experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
RCRA TrainingMust complete RCRA training to properly handle hazardous waste generated within the printing process.
Physical Requirements- Duties require standing for extended periods with limited lower body movement (8 to 12 hours).
- Visual acuity to detect variances in job numbers, registers, and marks.
- Color vision to detect color issues in products.
- Good hand-eye coordination to keep pace with the machine.
- Ability to lift 25–35 lb boxes continuously and 50 lb occasionally to cover the palletizer position.
- Occasional climbing, stooping, bending, and overhead reaching.
- Fine motor skills and grasping ability.
We are a union environment and must be willing to work all shifts.
