Job Description

The Quality Technician will play a crucial role in inspecting and testing components, such as cannulas and other small parts, to ensure they meet quality standards. You will be trained to execute various tests on these components and will need to understand good documentation practices, as some measurement instruments connect to Excel. Ideally, candidates will have experience in testing medical device components.

  • Work schedule:

    Full-time onsite. Monday-Friday.

  • Start times are flexible and can range between 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM. End times typically end at 5:30 – 6:00 PM.

  • This is strictly a contract position

  • Pay Rate: $25-30/hr.

  • Contract position for 6 Months only.

Responsibilities
  • Perform dimensional inspections on raw materials and incoming components.

  • Conduct testing on prototype and production products to support Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing Technology engineers.

  • Utilize automated vertical tension and compression machines for testing.

  • Execute flow testing using various flow measurement and pressure systems.

  • Develop and maintain lab apparatus and test methods.

  • Ensure performance and calibration of lab equipment are up to date.

  • Prepare sample products for testing and maintain proper documentation for product traceability.

  • Assist in ordering lab supplies, standards, solvents, and track inventory.

  • Collaborate with Product Development and Quality engineers to improve testing methodologies and SOPs.

  • Document all work on appropriate forms as required by test protocols and SOPs.

  • Utilize and maintain a laboratory notebook.

  • Comply with safety and operating policies and procedures for equipment, materials, and finished products.

  • Test components, in-process, and finished products independently following established SOPs and WIs.

  • Perform quality material and product measuring, testing, and release using established SOPs and WIs.

  • Interpret engineering specifications and drawings and perform inspections, product segregation, and verification.

  • Maintain department documentation and inventory of measurement equipment.

  • Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance records for inspection equipment are current.

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

  • Perform set-up/preparation of equipment, cleaning, changeover of lines, and general housekeeping.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by thoroughly understanding material safety data sheets (SDS) for proper handling of materials.

  • Follow operating and maintenance instructions for tools and machinery.

  • Perform verification and validation activities in accordance with company QMS, ISO, and FDA standards.

  • Understand and apply GDP, GLP, and ensure work is performed in compliance with company policies.

  • Perform other assignments or projects as directed.

Essential Skills
  • Experience in inspection and testing of medical device components.

  • Knowledge of mechanical testing (tensile, pressure, flow rate testing).

  • Proficiency in quality inspection techniques.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Good documentation practices.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant quality/testing experience (3 to 5 years preferred).

  • High School Diploma.

Pay and Benefits
