Assembler Technician
Location:
Belmont, CA
Shift: M-F | 6am-2:30pm
Pay Range: $36-$41/hr
Responsibilities- Work with small parts and deburring the contact lens with a surgical knife.
- Work closely with team of assembly personnel, technicians, and QC to manufacture a first-of-its-kind medical device.
- Perform in-process quality checks and report any suspected problems to supervisor.
- Maintain controlled environment room integrity by using proper attire and adherence to CER practices and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quality, work in process, test results, work times, and special projects.
- Adhere to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, QMS, SOPs, MPIs and GMP/GLP regulations.
- Recommend, initiate, or provide solutions to design and process issues.
- Perform other duties as required, scheduled by management.
- Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in the medical device field or equivalent.
- Must have deburring experience.
- Understanding of Controlled Environment Room requirements.
- Understanding of GMPs and working within a QMS.
- Ability to read and understand directions from written instructions or from supervisor.
- Ability to use small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and test fixtures.
- Experience working with small assemblies under a microscope (must have).
- Experience with deburring small parts (must have).
- Experience with a variety of materials and manufacturing techniques including but deburring of small parts.
- Ability to work in a prototype-to-pilot environment as well as a more routine production environment.
- Experience with defect inspection under microscope.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable raising issues of quality or process change to supervisor.
- Ability to solve basic math equations and accurately fill out device and lot history records (DHR).
- Intraocular lens manufacturing experience is a plus.
- No medical conditions preventing access to a controlled environment room (cleanroom).
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
