AboutThe Role
Wolf-Packing is looking for a highly skilled Food Packaging Equipment Electro-Mechanical Operator/Technician to join our growing technical operations team. This role is ideal for someone who is hands‑on, mechanically talented, electrically knowledgeable, and experienced in food-processing or packaging equipment environments. You will build, assemble, troubleshoot, install, and commission packaging equipment at our facility as well as travel to customer facilities. Key Responsibilities Equipment Assembly & Build- Uncrate machines and equipment from wooden boxes using hand tools and power tools.
- Assemble conveyors, platforms, frames, safety guards, product handling equipment, etc.
- Build and configure packaging systems including multi-head weighers, pre-made pouch (Doy Pack) machines, and vertical form‑fill‑seal (VFFS) machines.
- Complete all mechanical adjustments, alignments, timing, and system integrations.
- Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues during builds and installations.
- Perform full machine commissioning, calibration, and optimization at customer facilities.
- Configure sensors, load cells, HMI settings, sealing parameters, bag forming adjustments, and more.
- Travel to customer food plants as needed for installation, commissioning, training, and service.
- Train customer operators and maintenance staff on safe and proper machine use.
- Serve as a brand ambassador who communicates clearly, maintains professionalism, and ensures customer success.
- Collaborate with internal team members to prepare equipment prior to shipment.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspace and field environments.
- Suggest improvements to assembly procedures, design, workflow, and customer onboarding.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a food plant or food packaging environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment build, assembly, and adjustments.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, including:
- Reading electrical schematics
- Basic troubleshooting of control circuits
- Wiring, sensors, and low-voltage components
- Working knowledge of pneumatics (valves, regulators, actuators).
- Hands‑on experience with at least one of the following (required):
- Multi-head weighers
- Pre-made pouch / Doy Pack machines
- Vertical Form‑Fill‑Seal (VFFS) systems
- Ability and willingness to travel for installations and customer support (Domestic only)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with food packaging automation systems.
- PLC / HMI exposure (Siemens, Omron, etc.)
- Experience installing packaging lines in factories or co-pack facilities.
