Location Profile: Headquartered in Irvine, CA, Shur-Lok manufactures fastening systems for engine module assembly, structural assembly, rotor blade attachment, and aircraft engine shaft applications. Irvine operations include CNC Machining, CNC Waterjet Cutting, Laser Marking, Heat Treating, NDT, and EDM.
Position SummaryLevel Two
:
Builds upon level one, operating 2-5 axis CNC/Automated machine cells and standalone machines with basic setup, fixtures, cutting tools, and loading/adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Level two machinists use more advanced inspection tools and techniques (height, air gauge, bench inspection). Basic print reading and G/M codes. May work in CNC, Turning, or Screw Machine. Typically 2-4 years of experience. (Gateway and secondary operations, not necessarily CNC)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Level one responsibilities apply to level two, with additional duties:
- Perform basic setup operations, including fixtures, cutting tools, and CNC programs.
- Maintain product quality by monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.
- Perform inspection tasks of intermediate complexity using drawings and advanced inspection tools.
- Meet production demands.
- Run production on multiple machines at once (Primary & Secondary).
- Identify and correctly load and secure fixtures with minimal assistance.
- Working knowledge of G and M codes for setting/adjusting offsets and CNC programs.
- Shop math skills including tool geometry, positive/negative numbers, and basic geometry.
- Ability to read basic prints in English and apply dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
- Typically, evidence of success in level one machining duties for at least one year before promotion or hire.
- 2-4 years of experience.
- GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

Schedule Options: 1st Shift: Monday - Friday (6am - 2:30pm)
Compensation & Benefits (informational)Pay range: $25.50 to $38.25 USD hourly. Eligible to participate in the Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan. 80 hours paid time off per year, 10 paid holidays. Medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance. 401(k) plan available.
