Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced AIT Technician – EPS Module Assembly to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Production Manager
, the AIT Technician – EPS Module Assembly will be responsible for assembling and testing Electrical Power System (EPS) spacecraft components. The ideal candidate should possess a keen understanding of quality control and AS‑9100 standards.
This role is on our Weekend shift (Friday – Sunday) from 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
Key Duties And Responsibilities- Follow detailed procedures to assemble complex electronic and mechanical modules.
- Operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and light power tools.
- Ability to quickly change priority while working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Communicate statuses, issues, and suggestions effectively to the support engineering team.
- Update documentation and hardware statuses through online services.
- Perform basic avionics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Assist in spacecraft integration related activities.
- Maintain a strong work ethic, work with limited supervision, and meet attendance policy requirements.
- Perform all functions of the job in a safe and professional manner.
- Keep work area(s) neat, clean, safe, and orderly.
- Stand for most of the working day.
- Perform miscellaneous lab duties, including kitting, inventory, and organization tasks.
- Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of professional experience in electromechanical assembly or spacecraft/spacecraft hardware manufacturing.
- Ability to read, understand and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
- Proficiency with Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and internet browsers.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of soldering tools and practices (J‑STD‑001 certification preferred but not required).
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Familiarity with cleanroom cleanliness standards and ESD precautions.
- Excellent visual acuity for detailed inspections and quality control tasks.
- Ability to accurately distinguish a wide range of colors.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. The employee may lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.
