Plant Manager – Eaton – Irvine, CA

Eaton’s Fluid & Motion Control (FMC) division within the Aerospace group is seeking a Plant Manager to join our team in Irvine, CA. Relocation assistance is available for candidates within the United States. The position offers an annual salary range of $ to $, plus a variable incentive program. This is a non‑union site with approximately 150 employees across two shifts that produces airframe valves, gauges, pumps, and aerial and ground refueling components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize, lead, and manage all functional elements of the plant.
  • Drive improvement in both financial performance and High Five operational metrics—safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity—using the Eaton Business System (EBS).
  • Utilize EBS tools such as MESH, EQMS, ELSS, and others to align plant goals with corporate and divisional strategies.
  • Support workforce growth and development to foster a high‑performance culture with a strong emphasis on inclusion and diversity.
  • Set overall plant policies and procedures consistent with the Eaton Business System, values, and philosophy.
  • Coordinate and direct all functional areas—manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, operations excellence, HR, and finance—through managers.
  • Manage operating performance through the Balanced Scorecard process and structured problem‑solving.
  • Mentor the leadership team in performance management and the Eaton Leadership model.
  • Promote continuous improvement, build customer relationships, and ensure compliance with the ethics policy.
  • Develop controls and critically review operational results against planned objectives.
  • Make day‑to‑day decisions that directly impact quality, efficiency, and profitability of the plant.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management positions.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Minimum of 4 years leading a plant or factory.
  • Access to export‑controlled information, requiring the applicant to be a U.S. person (citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or MBA from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with in a top‑tier multinational manufacturing company.
  • Experience in various operational and supply‑chain areas within a related industry.
Key Skills
  • Administrative knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure analysis, and wage and salary administration.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive results without authority.
  • Broad knowledge of product and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills for teams and groups at all organizational levels.
  • Perseverance, leadership, and project management skills to drive results.
  • Ability to plan, organize, build effective teams, and motivate others.
  • Innovative mindset and facilitation of team sessions.
