Director of Finance – UC Irvine

As Director of Finance, you will lead the finance department responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and resource planning. You will supervise a team of analysts, oversee complex projects, and provide strategic financial direction across the university.

• Receive assignments and objectives and develop processes to achieve them.
• Supervise day‑to‑day unit activities and lead a section of budgeting and financial analysts.
• Engage with major department managers on complex projects and report to senior leadership.
• Direct operations in accordance with established policies and management guidance.
• Prepare and present financial materials to internal and external constituents.
• Control organizational budgeting and manage clinical billing and accounting systems.

• Extensive knowledge of finance policies, budgeting, reporting, and accounting.
• Understanding of human resource policies and resource planning concepts.
• Advanced spreadsheet and database skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication; interpersonal skills.
• Experience in an academic medical setting, clinical practice management, and clinical trials.
• Previous supervisory experience and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area and 9‑10 years of relevant work and management experience.
