Litigation Attorney​/Law & Motion

Overview

Macdonald & Cody, LLP is an established insurance defense litigation firm specializing in catastrophic personal injury and construction defect cases. We are seeking highly motivated law and motion/litigation attorneys with a minimum of 3 to 7 years of relevant experience for our Irvine office with the ability to commute to Los Angeles, surrounding counties, and on occasion to central and northern California for court appearances and depositions.

Prior insurance defense litigation experience is desirable.

• Participation in the drafting of Case Management Orders, and court appearances.
• Organizing and analyzing case information and providing reports to carriers, propounding and responding to written discovery, law and motion drafting.
• Meeting and coordinating with clients and experts, attending site inspections, taking and defending depositions including experts and all phases of trial preparation.
• There is also an opportunity for first and second-chair trial experience.

Should be able to draft various motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment, Demurrers, Motions to Strike, various discovery motions, pre-trial motions, motions in limine, trial briefs, and post-trial motions.

• Be an active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
• Be able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

• The salary range in California for this role is $125,000 - $190,000 and represents the firm s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate s experience, qualifications, and location.
