Overview
The Regional Paralegal Supervisor for the West Coast supports the Paralegal Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the firm’s paralegal teams across California, Nevada and Arizona. This role coordinates multi-state workflow, supports staff development, ensures quality and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, and assists with the implementation of firm policies and procedures consistently across the region. The Regional Paralegal Supervisor acts as a liaison between paralegals and attorneys, and provides ongoing supervision, guidance, and operational leadership to support firm objectives.
DutiesAnd Responsibilities
Team Support and Oversight
- Coordinate with Practice Group Management department in assigning and tracking paralegal workloads across multiple offices and jurisdictions, balancing capacity, deadlines, and business needs.
- Serve as a point of contact for paralegal operational questions and issue resolution.
- Provide substantive input on paralegal performance and contribute to performance evaluations.
- Monitor attendance and review and approve time sheets and time entry, ensuring consistency with firm policies governing billable and non-billable work.
Training and Development
- Assist with onboarding, orientation, and training of new paralegals, utilizing multiple training methods including in-person instruction, digital assignments, and assessments.
- Collaborate with the Firm-Wide Trainer to develop continuing education initiatives focused on legal skills, procedural updates, and best practices, and track training progress.
- Assist in ensuring training materials and programs align with state-specific court rules, filing requirements, and paralegal regulations in California, Nevada and Arizona.
Workflow and Case Support
- Monitor deadlines and workflows to support timely completion of tasks and filings across jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to facilitate case progress and resolve workflow challenges.
- Exercise discretion to step in during high-volume periods or complex matters to ensure continuity of service.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct spot checks or reviews of paralegal work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with firm standards and applicable court and administrative rules.
- Assist in maintaining and updating standard operating procedures and best practices documentation across regional offices.
- Monitor updates related to paralegal regulations, court rules, and administrative requirements, and communicate relevant updates to the department as directed by the Paralegal Manager.
Project & Process Support
- Coordinate with firm departments to develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and support department and firm initiatives.
- Gather data and assist in generating regional and state-specific reports on paralegal productivity, utilization, and workload trends.
Administrative Support
- Assist in maintaining departmental schedules, calendars, and records.
- Support compliance with timekeeping, billing, and operational policies for the regional paralegal team.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of paralegal experience in civil litigation.
- 2+ years of supervisory, leadership, or mentoring experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state court rules procedures, including experience working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise independent judgment, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, Excel, Outlook, and legal document management and practice management systems.
- (California only) Paralegal certificate from an ABA program or attestation in compliance with California requirements.

In-Office. Hybrid after 90 days of employment - Salary: $95,000 - $130,000
- Work Schedule:
8:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends and holidays. - Physical Requirements:
Regular office environment; sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; extensive use of computer equipment. - Travel: 5 – 20% domestic travel by ground or air, dependent on firm needs.
