AI​/ML, Intern

As a AI/ML, Intern you will build lightweight prototypes using tools already in the ecosystem (e.g., coding assistants, automation bots, internal copilots). Integrate with dev workflows (Jira, Git, CI/CD, documentation portals). Define success metrics (time saved, reduced manual steps, improved cycle time, developer satisfaction). Run controlled pilots. Capture before/after data and qualitative feedback. Document patterns, prompts, guardrails, and lessons learned.

Create quick guides or playbooks for teams adopting AI tools. Present findings in demos or internal innovation forums.

Location:

This position must be based in Irvine, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

How You'll Make An Impact:

* Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases by engaging engineering, QA, Dev Ops, and product teams to uncover workflow friction and automation opportunities.

* Design and deliver rapid PoCs that integrate AI tools into SDLC workflows, demonstrating measurable productivity or quality improvements.

* Define success metrics and run structured pilots, capturing quantitative and qualitative insights to inform scale-up decisions.

* Document reusable patterns, guardrails, and playbooks to enable safe and consistent AI adoption across teams.

* Present findings and recommendations to leadership, directly shaping the AI roadmap and influencing investment priorities.

What You Bring:

* Education:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree at an accrdited university in Computer Science or Data Science. Eligible candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students who intend to return to their academic program the following academic year.

* A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scare is required.

* Proficiency in Python (preferred) or JavaScript, with the ability to build small automation scripts, APIs, or prototypes.

* Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, and common AI tooling ecosystems (copilots, APIs, automation platforms).

* Ability to break down ambiguous workflow problems, formulate hypotheses, and design simple experiments to validate AI solutions.

* Exposure to developer tools and platforms (Git, Jira, REST APIs, basic CI/CD concepts) to embed AI solutions into real workflows.

* Comfort working with datasets, running small evaluations, measuring outcomes, and summarizing insights.

* Ability to document findings, create simple guides, and present PoC results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS basics)

* Familiarity with automation frameworks or low-code tools. Amazon Q or Kiro preferred.

* Exposure to software engineering best practices (testing, security awareness)

* Curiosity and self-driven learning mindset.

Compensation:
The estimated hourly rate for this position is $25.00 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
