Job Overview

Akkodis is seeking an Enterprise Architect for a Contract with a client in Irvine, CA
. You will design and manage VMware‑to‑AWS migration solutions, covering workload mobility, HA/DR planning, and cloud readiness.

$45/hour to $53/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Leading VMware‑to‑AWS migration initiatives using vSphere, HCX, SRM, and cross‑cloud mobility tools to ensure seamless workload transitions.
• Performing workload discovery, dependency mapping, and capacity planning to design scalable and resilient hybrid‑cloud architectures.
• Architecting high‑availability and disaster recovery solutions across on‑prem VMware and AWS environments using EC2/EBS, networking, and DR services.
• Troubleshooting VM performance, storage mappings, and cross‑platform issues while optimizing virtualization and cloud configurations.
• Designing modernization paths including containerization strategies with EKS and integrations with backend databases and middleware stacks.
• Collaborating with cloud, network, and application teams while documenting architectures, migration plans, and operational runbooks.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8–10 years of hands‑on experience in VMware virtualization, cloud migration, and hybrid‑cloud architecture.
• Deep expertise with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HCX migrations, SRM, and cross‑cloud workload mobility, including performance tuning and storage mapping.
• Strong experience designing and implementing VMware‑to‑AWS migration solutions, including EC2/EBS architectures, AWS networking, HA/DR patterns, and automation using Power
  
  CLI, Terraform, or Ansible.

$45.00 to $53.00 per hour.
