The individual will be responsible for the EDI technical standards, identifying new integration needs, and improving the effectiveness of our B2B/EDI communications and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Standard EDI, Dynamics BC EDI and will be responsible for effectively automating business process execution with our B2B trading partners. The individual must have the ability to clearly communicate EDI requirements to properly plan and implement the solutions with our Trading Partners and internal departments.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

EDI System Configuration, Enhancement and Support
  • Direct the work of the internal and third-party EDI support team members in day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality functional and technical support and customer service of the ecosystem of ERP and ERP-related applications and technologies.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions with EDI vendors to support and troubleshoot complex technical issues and maintain system integrity.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for the support of EDI and its ecosystem, providing hands‑on management and resolution of incidents, as well as enhancements, upgrades and migrations.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Sales and their sub‑functions to understand their EDI needs, translating them into system requirements, and leading successful implementations of business‑aligned solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end‑users, enhancing their understanding and efficient use of the EDI and the ecosystem of related enterprise applications and technologies.
  • Stay updated with the latest EDI trends and technologies to suggest improvements and enhancements.
EDI System Compliance and Standards
  • Oversee data validation processes for all EDI transactions to ensure that all transmitted data is complete, accurate, and conforms to required standards.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts if data discrepancies or errors are identified to prevent any disruption in business operations.
  • Ensures EDI systems are properly integrated with the ERP.
  • Manage organizational change related to EDI system enhancements, upgrades, and process changes using professional change management techniques and industry best practices.
  • Foster a positive and adaptive culture and mindset during system changes.
  • Provide training and support to end‑users, enhancing their understanding and efficient use of the ERP.
  • Identify Inefficiencies:
    Analyze existing business processes and system inefficiencies.
  • Process Improvement:
    Recommend and execute improvements to process configurations and workflows.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Serve as a liaison between departments/divisions to gather and understand business requirements while confirming the alignment of solutions to business strategies.
Testing and Support
  • Test Plans:
    Develop and execute test plans to validate system changes in pre‑Production environments.
  • System Upgrades:
    Lead, oversee, and support system conversions, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Project Leadership:
    Take the lead and actively participate in multiple concurrent improvement and enhancement projects related to BC and its ecosystem of applications and solutions.
  • Project Documentation:
    Lead the construction and own the maintenance and updates to project and support documentation, including project plans, SOPs, charters, business requirements, workflow/swim lane diagrams, scope matrices, use cases, sequence diagrams, future state proposals, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, where needed.
  • Scope Management:
    Manage project scope, adjust schedules as needed, prioritize daily tasks, and ensure on‑time delivery of project milestones.
  • Effective Communication:
    Maintain clear communication across departments with all levels of stakeholder from clerical to executive management.
