A leading automotive finance company, located in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a 3+ month contract role.
Business Systems Analyst – Automotive Finance & Insurance Products
Position Overview
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a critical role in bridging business needs and technology solutions within the automotive finance ecosystem. This role focuses heavily on insurance-related products—including vehicle protection plans, GAP, VSC, P&C auto insurance, and aftermarket products—as well as supporting end‑to‑end workflows across origination, servicing, dealer systems, underwriting, and compliance.
The analyst will collaborate across product, operations, underwriting, compliance, IT, dealer services, and third‑party vendors to optimize processes, define system requirements, and support successful delivery of enhancements and new capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Analysis
- Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders to document current-state processes and identify gaps and improvement opportunities related to auto finance and insurance products.
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mapping.
- Evaluate and document insurance product rules, eligibility, pricing logic, underwriting needs, and integration requirements.
System & Product Support
- Support systems involved in loan/lease origination, servicing, dealer portal functions, underwriting consoles, digital insurance products, and contract lifecycle processes.
- Partner with IT to refine system design options, understand impacts, and ensure solutions align with business goals.
- Maintain product catalogs, coverages, rate tables, and vehicle/asset mappings as needed.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies—backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and UAT preparation.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst, preferably in automotive finance, captive finance, F&I, or insurance technology.
- Strong knowledge of insurance products (VSC, GAP, prepaid maintenance, tire & wheel, appearance packages, P&C auto insurance).
- Experience with digital lending platforms, dealer portals, underwriting systems, or CRM platforms
- Ability to document requirements, process flows, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Understanding of system integration concepts, APIs, data exchange with TPAs/insurance partners.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in auto finance and insurance.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of loan/lease lifecycle: credit, funding, servicing, claims, refunds.
- SQL or data analysis experience.
- Background working with third‑party administrators (AUL, Safe Guard, Assurant, JM&A, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface with technical and non‑technical audiences.
