Base pay range

This role requires candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and C2C arrangements are not accepted. This role is remote but requires you to be on-site twice a month in either Irvine, California or Irving, Texas.

Overview

As a Data Scientist III
, you will support multiple initiatives simultaneously and act as an internal business partner, using data to help teams improve performance, reduce inefficiencies, and make better decisions. This role focuses on translating business problems into analytical approaches, uncovering insights from data, and clearly communicating findings to stakeholders. This is a remote role with periodic in-person collaboration required at a designated office location.

What

You’ll Do
  • Understand how individual tasks and projects fit into broader business objectives and recommend effective analytical approaches
  • Independently manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities under general supervision
  • Partner with stakeholders across departments to address business questions using data
  • Translate open-ended business problems (e.g., improving operational efficiency or reducing errors) into structured analytical workflows
  • Extract data from SQL-based systems and other sources
  • Clean, explore, analyze, and model data using tools such as Python, R, and/or Excel
  • Identify patterns, trends, and statistically meaningful relationships
  • Build clear visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau or similar BI platforms
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analytics partners to ensure data quality and scalability
  • Present findings to non-technical and technical audiences, confirming, refuting, or refining business hypotheses
  • Provide actionable recommendations that may inform operational changes, process improvements, or future analysis
What You’ll Need
  • Strong foundation in statistics, data analysis, and analytical problem-solving
  • Demonstrated experience owning projects end-to-end: data extraction, analysis, interpretation, and business presentation
  • Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling
  • Experience using visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Ability to explain technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments where priorities, scope, or methods may evolve
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Collaborative mindset and adaptability when project direction or deliverables change
  • 3-5 years experience
