AboutThe Role
The Core UX team owns and maintains Twitch’s Design System to support a cross-platform live streaming service. We are seeking a Senior Design Systems Designer to join our Core UX team will support the evolution and maintenance of Twitch’s design system, ensuring consistency and efficiency across our cross-platform product while collaborating with cross-functional partners and representing the design system to the design organization.

You can work from Twitch’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA; or from hub locations in Seattle, WA;
Irvine, CA;
Los Angeles, CA; or New York City, NY.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to evolve and maintain Twitch's design system and product visual language, including color, typography, iconography, motion, grid, shape, illustration, and 3D, with strong attention to detail and polish.
- Lead the creation and refinement of UI components, patterns, and template libraries, ensuring high visual craft, accessibility, and consistency.
- Translate visual language principles into clear documentation and guidelines for adoption by design and engineering teams, and present complex system decisions to diverse audiences.
- Participate in design system working sessions and workshops with product teams, presenting system decisions effectively.
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for the design system's evolution, embracing learning, iteration, and growth of the visual system.
- Advocate for accessibility standards and ensure compliance across components.
- Maintain openness to feedback and collaboration, shaping a design system that reaches millions of users daily.
- Participate in design reviews and QA to ensure fidelity and consistency across feature implementations.
- 3+ years of experience building design systems as a product, platform, or visual designer, ideally in tech or digital product environments with emphasis on mobile design
- A portfolio demonstrating excellent visual craft and systematic thinking, especially in scaling brand and visual identity
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate visual decisions clearly
- Deep understanding of design system principles, governance, and accessibility (WCAG) with implementation in the design system
- Proficiency in Figma and industry-standard tools (Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, or equivalent) and iOS/Android knowledge
- Experience with design system documentation platforms (e.g., Storybook, Zeroheight)
- Familiarity with design tokens and related tooling/workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from the lowest to the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including location, knowledge, skills, and experience. This position will remain open until filled. US Pay Per Year: $106,000—$184,000
