Overview

Human Resources People Partner

The HR People Partner acts as a trusted advisor to business units, aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. Collaborating closely with department managers, this proactive role oversees all people-related activities, such as coaching, mentoring, performance management, employee programs, and offering guidance to both managers and employees. This role focuses on fostering a positive work environment, handling employee relations, and supporting career development to ensure effective HR practices.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with team leaders to understand their goals and challenges and develop HR strategies that support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the talent acquisition team to identify, attract, and recruit top talent for the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and workforce needs.
  • Develop and implement succession planning and career development programs to develop and retain employees within designated business units.
  • Manage and address employee relations issues and grievances through detailed and objective investigations.
  • Oversee the company performance management process, ensuring timely and effective evaluations, training, feedback, and development plans.
  • Collaborate with the People Strategy team to develop and implement HR initiatives that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide coaching to managers on employee performance and talent management. Develop and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Occasionally lead new hire orientation activities and training for HQ location.
  • Prepare HR reports to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Manage the employee driving program, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Administer the summer intern program in partnership with talent acquisition, overseeing onboarding, mentorship, and program activities to support talent pipeline development.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance workplace culture and employee engagement, striving to achieve recognition as a great place to work.
  • Conduct market analysis of new and existing positions for assigned business groups to ensure alignment with market standards and organizational compensation strategies.
  • Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Manage leave of absence cases for business units, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and providing support to employees.
  • May assist in drafting policies in accordance with organizational goals, industry trends, and labor laws or regulations.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a business partner role supporting engineering or software teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • In-depth understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations. Experience in the automotive industry or start up environment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to self-prioritize and manage multiple, sometimes competing, tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Understanding of immigration laws and regulations is a plus.
