Our client in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist who can independently process payroll using Paycor. This role requires someone detail-oriented, dependable, and confident managing payroll from start to finish with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate has hands‑on Paycor experience and is comfortable stepping into a fast‑paced environment right away.

- Process weekly/biweekly payroll for employees through Paycor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and update employee payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and deductions
- Review and audit timesheets for completeness and compliance
- Handle payroll‑related inquiries from employees in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
- Generate payroll reports and support finance/HR with payroll data as needed
- Assist with year‑end payroll tasks, including W‑2 preparation
- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive payroll information
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience using Paycor
- Hands‑on Paycor experience required — must be able to run payroll independently
- Knowledgeable in California payroll laws required
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance
- High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong problem‑solving abilities
