Your Role on the Team

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Review and resolve billing edit errors prior to claim submission to ensure clean, accurate claims and timely reimbursement.
• Collect on insurance accounts by working assigned accounts receivable worklists, aging reports, and correspondence.
• Analyze patient accounts to determine appropriate billing or collection actions in compliance with payer guidelines.
• Communicate with payors and internal stakeholders to resolve billing and collection issues efficiently.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

• Experience with professional fee medical billing, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers’ Compensation, and commercial insurance plans.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English.
• Ability to analyze accounts, manage workload effectively, and meet monthly productivity standards.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships across a healthcare system.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.

Preferred:

• Experience with patient registration and authorization processes.
• Proficiency using payor websites for claim status review and collections follow-up.
• Experience with Epic Billing or similar medical billing systems.
• Background in professional fee medical collections within a healthcare or academic medical setting.
