With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care.

We are seeking experienced nurses for our 8-bed Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC) at City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital as a Clinical Nurse III in the ETC. You will provide compassionate care to oncology patients who are requiring urgent evaluation and intervention. This role is vital in addressing acute symptoms related to cancer, treatment side effects, and oncologic emergencies.
Responsibilities- Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care.
- Assesses patient conditions, recognizes early signs of complications, escalates care when necessary, and ensures continuity of care through coordination with inpatient, outpatient, and palliative teams.
- Administers specialized medications, monitors treatment responses, and manages central lines and infusion devices.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation.
- Prioritizes holistic care, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of the patients.
- Serves as a mentor and role model to new staff members.
- Delegates to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
- In alignment with City of Hope mission and values, coordinates interdisciplinary care planning, documents according to standards, and validates patient and caregiver understanding of the plan of care and expected outcomes.
- Acts as a change agent, committed to lifelong learning, professional development, and embodiment of City of Hope organizational mission and values.

- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 – 5 years related experience (urgent care, emergency room)
- Current CA Registered Nurse License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association
- ONS certification is highly preferred
