UCI MIND (the UCI Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders) is the only state and federally funded Alzheimer's Disease Research Center in Orange County and is funded through a grant from the National Institute on Aging.
Our mission is to discover means to improve the lives of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, with community outreach and education to keep the community informed and to recruit research volunteers.
Role:
The UCI MIND is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Psychometrist to support our interdisciplinary clinical research program on Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias, and healthy aging.
- Independently administer complex batteries of neuropsychological tests to assess memory, mental status, language, visual-spatial skills, executive function, processing speed, and depression.
- Administer batteries of neuropsychological tests to patients and participants in varying clinical research studies.
- Score psychometric tests and collect data from patients/participants and caregivers.
- Assist training of other psychometrists and neuropsychology trainees. Be sensitive to the physical and psychological needs of the elderly.
- Psychometric experience in a clinical research setting with elderly adults preferred.
- Prior experience with both healthy and cognitively impaired elderly adults (65+).
- Knowledge of current legal and ethical standards in psychology.
- Extensive training and experience administering neuropsychological and psychological measures and research assessments.
- Strong understanding of neuropsychology; ability to train and supervise externs, interns, and staff.
- Proven collaborative teamwork skills and excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities (including report editing).
- Experience in research and data collection; commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Must maintain active status as a registered psychological testing technician and meet requirements as stated in the California SB1428 (effective January 1, 2024).
- Travel as needed (< 100 miles) to research participant homes to administer cognitive testing.
The expected pay range for this recruitment is $66,242.10 – $71,719.65 (annual).
