We are seeking dependable, professional team members to provide one-on-one behavioral support to children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. This role emphasizes consistency, preparedness, and collaboration with families and supervisors.
About the RoleBehavior Support Companions support individuals who may experience behavioral, emotional, or sensory challenges. Team members follow structured support plans, promote safety, and help establish predictable daily routines that support long-term progress.
What You7ll Do- Provide consistent, scheduled support to clients and their families
- Implement behavioral support strategies and structured routines as trained
- Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviors using approved approaches
- Encourage participation in meaningful, age-appropriate activities
- Support communication, emotional regulation, daily living skills, and positive social interactions
- Maintain professional boundaries while building supportive relationships
- Complete session documentation and communicate regularly with supervisors
- Individuals who value consistency, follow-through, and professionalism
- Team members who remain composed in high-needs situations
- Those who apply training thoughtfully in real-time settings
- Candidates who take pride in reliable, high-quality work
- Part-time and full-time opportunities available
- Full-time is defined as 30+ hours per week or 130+ hours per month
- Afternoon, evening, and/or weekend availability based on family needs
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with developmental disabilities preferred
- Background in ABA, caregiving, education, psychology, or human services a plus
- Comfortable working in home environments with behavioral support needs
- Able to complete documentation using basic technology
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background clearance
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to participate in movement-based activities
- Ability to assist with mobility support when needed
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Approximately 40 hours of onboarding within the first 3 months
- Training in behavior support and crisis prevention
