City of Hope Orange County is transforming cancer treatment by bringing world‑class expertise and specialized care closer to home. Our 11‑acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to the City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center and Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital. The hospital opens advanced cancer care from prevention through survivorship for the first time in Orange County, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment.

• Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures according to prescribed protocols and assigned schedules, completing procedures within established turnaround times.
• Perform quality control procedures including preventative maintenance, calibrations, review of controls, and record data on appropriate forms. Support and participate in the Quality Assurance efforts and Performance Improvement process.
• Utilize standard laboratory equipment and record and check results for completeness and accuracy. Perform data entry of diagnostic information.
• EPIC Beaker experience (highly preferred).

This is an evening shift position; 02:00 pm – 10:30 pm (hours may vary). Initial training hours may be conducted during day shift hours. This position requires flexibility to accommodate varying patient needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. On‑call responsibilities and mandatory overtime may also be necessary.

• Bachelor’s Degree; military applicants without a bachelor’s degree may apply with approval of CDPH‑LFS (California Department of Public Health – Laboratory Field Services).
• Minimum 2 years as a certified or licensed clinical laboratory scientist.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) – Highly Preferred: CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Generalist) – MTA.
• Note:
  
  For candidates with < 2 years of experience, may be considered for Clinical Laboratory Scientist I (Pay Range: $43.17/hr – $55.04/hr – $66.92/hr).
