Sr. Tax Manager needed (contract-to-hire) for well-established technology company based in Irvine.

Salary: $60 - $100 per hour.

An established, high growth technology company is seeking a Tax Manager or Director of Tax to lead U.S. tax compliance and reporting. Level and scope will align with experience.

• Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance including corporate and partnership filings, estimates, and projections.
• Oversee sales and use tax, property tax, business licenses, reconciliations, and audit support.
• Manage income tax provision process under ASC 740 including journal entries and disclosures.
• Support R&D credit studies and Section 174 analysis.
• Drive tax planning initiatives to improve effective tax rate.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Partner cross functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors.

• 8 to 10 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax.
• Strong background in corporate and partnership income tax compliance, ASC 740, and U.S. GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. CPA is a plus.
• Experience in public company or private equity backed environments is a plus.
• Exposure to tax technology and automation tools preferred.
