Director of Accounting

The Director, General Accounting is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all operational accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, banking, and accounting system administration. This individual ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting, drives a timely month-end close process, and plays an active role in corporate compliance. The position collaborates closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support the organization’s financial objectives.

This role reports directly to the CFO and maintains:

• Frequent interaction with associates at all levels across the organization
• Close collaboration with members of the executive team on strategic and operational projects
• Regular contact with external vendors and service providers
• Periodic interaction with hotel members as relevant to accounting activities

• Oversee all activities of the general accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash controls, payroll processing, and corporate payroll tax compliance.
• Design, implement, and maintain robust systems and internal controls that safeguard the integrity of all financial systems, processes, and data.
• Oversee the administration of global bank accounts and the corporate credit card program.
• Supervise all financial reporting and external audit functions, including:
• Delivery of monthly financial statement packages to executive management
• Preparation of the annual financial report and related disclosures
• 401(k) benefit plan administration, audit, financial statements, and annual filings
• Corporate shareholder reporting, dividend administration, and related tax disclosures

• Partner with external tax advisors to ensure full corporate income tax compliance.
• Play an active and ongoing role in corporate compliance initiatives.

• Lead, develop, and manage a team spanning accounting, global banking, financial reporting, disbursements, and payroll functions; serve as backup for critical roles within the team.
• Respond to requests from the CFO with accurate and timely deliverables that support executive-level financial decision-making.

• Consortia management
• Travel Management Company relationships
• Global American Express Card program
• Participate in special projects and produce ad hoc financial reports as needed.
• Communicate with colleagues, management, clients, and stakeholders in a professional and collaborative manner.
• Ensure full adherence to all company regulations, policies, procedures, and operational standards.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting
• Exceptional people management and team leadership skills
• High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
• Proven ability to prioritize and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
