At YUSI, Quantitative Analysts research, develop, and implement systematic, data-driven trading and investment models across equities and macro strategies. This role focuses on automated trading strategies, quantitative research, and risk modeling using advanced mathematics, machine learning, and large-scale data analysis. The work directly contributes to investment performance, market-making activities, and firm profitability (P&L).
Key Responsibilities- Conceptualize, design, build, and refine mathematical and machine learning models to identify trading signals and investment opportunities.
- Develop systematic models for equities, risk modeling, or broader quantitative strategies.
- Analyze extensive, complex, high-frequency, and alternative datasets to validate hypotheses and predict market behavior.
- Apply statistical, econometric, and quantitative techniques to extract actionable insights from large datasets.
- Code, back-test, and support the deployment of automated trading algorithms and systematic strategies into live production environments.
- Monitor model performance, market feedback, and risk exposure to continuously improve strategies and risk management.
- Refine and enhance existing models to ensure performance stability, scalability, and alignment with evolving market conditions.
- Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, researchers, and engineers to improve trading performance and investment processes.
- Communicate research findings and model insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications Education
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, R, or Julia for research and production-level development.
- Advanced knowledge of probability, statistics, econometrics, machine learning, and time-series analysis.
- Experience with data management systems and large-scale datasets.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and risk models.
- Strong problem-solving ability, applying advanced quantitative methods to complex financial, market, and economic problems.
- Intellectually curious with a strong bias for action and commercial impact.
- Ability to communicate complex technical research clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative, analytical, and detail-oriented.
