What to Expect

The Portfolio Risk Manager is responsible for managing the portfolio analytics, tracking and monitoring of HCA’s delinquencies and credit losses, and the calculation of credit loss provisions under US GAAP, CECL, and IFRS 9 standards. This role will oversee month‑end and quarter‑end processes for financial reporting. In addition, this role will manage the mid‑month and annual loss forecasting establishing meetings with business stakeholders and developing new tools used with the loss model to increase forecast accuracy.

What

You Will Do
  • Own and lead the development, design and analysis of portfolio trends to identify risk exposures and opportunities for portfolio growth. Includes collaborating with business partners to review relevant KPIs, aligning with mid‑month credit loss forecast assumptions and calculations, and make recommendations for portfolio strategy to improve portfolio performance. Track historical roll rates by risk segment, identifying operational drivers, and interpreting the macroeconomic environment to apply qualitative factor adjustments if needed.
  • Develop profiles of credit segments, differentiate delinquency and loss performance, and communicate to Originations and Collections teams for necessary action.
  • Lead the effort of calculating HCA’s Retail and Lease provisions under US GAAP, IFRS 9, and CECL Accounting rules end‑to‑end. Research macroeconomic drivers/changes and monitor portfolio performance to assess the appropriate reserve levels. Proactively identify gaps and changes in the calculation and make recommendations to reduce volatility, improve accuracy and efficiency in the reserve’s calculation.
  • Assist in the Operating Plan annual forecasting process for credit loss. Work with business partners for alignment and present to senior management on analysis and results.
  • Manage the quarterly audit process for Consumer loan and loss reserves (US GAAP, IFRS 9 and CECL) including but not limited to addressing auditor requests and requirements (both external and internal) and maintaining a consistent and sustainable control framework to meet KSOX compliance.
  • Qualifications What You Will Bring
    • Minimum 5–7 years progressive experience in Risk Management area within Consumer Financial Services.
    • Automotive finance industry preferred.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required.
    • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative background.
    • Excellent skills in the area of quantitative analysis, statistical model development, and forecasting.
    • Excellent understanding of lending economics, credit risk, data analytics, industry trends, and key drivers of profitability and loss.
