Apriem Advisors is seeking an experienced Senior CPA – Tax to lead tax preparation and tax analysis for our high-net-worth client base and to manage our tax planning software, Holistiplan. This role sits at the intersection of tax, planning, and advisory and is designed for a professional who values depth, quality, and long-term client relationships over traditional public accounting volume. There are no billable hour requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare, review, sign, and file complex federal and multi-state tax returns (with California emphasis) including Forms 1040, 1041, 709, 1065, and 1120S of high-net-worth clients and Apriem Advisors company tax returns
- Serve as primary owner and administrator of Holistiplan, including analysis, interpretation, and advisor-facing insights
- Partner with financial advisors on proactive tax planning strategies such as Roth conversions, capital gains planning, charitable giving, and equity compensation
- Review K-1s, brokerage statements, and alternative investment reporting
- Communicate directly with clients regarding tax matters and planning recommendations
- Coordinate with external CPAs when applicable
- Manage IRS and state tax correspondence
- Maintain documentation and workflows consistent with RIA compliance standards
- Identify and implement process improvements related to tax workflows and planning integration
- Active CPA license in good standing
- Minimum 5+ years of tax experience with high-net-worth individuals
- Strong experience with complex individual and pass-through entity returns
- Prior RIA, wealth management, or family office experience strongly preferred
- Experience with professional tax software (Ultra Tax, Pro System fx, Lacerte, or similar)
- Experience with Holistiplan or willingness to become the firm’s in-house expert
- Strong Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Base Salary: $115,000 – $155,000, depending on experience and scope
- Discretionary Bonus:
Performance-based incentive opportunity, generally up to 20% - Total Target Compensation:
Up to approximately $170,000
