Temporary Specialist, Payroll role at PDS Health

The Specialist, Payroll is required to provide support to the Provider Payroll Team to ensure providers (Doctor) are paid in accordance with executed contracts. This incumbent will be responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish payroll processing objectives including, but not limited to, incentives, bonus, guarantee pay, and other compensation. Must have the ability to manage inquiries in a timely manner to mitigate all risk related to Doctors Pay.

This position works closely with IT and Finance to ensure pay is accurate and aligned with recorded production by the provider (Doctor). Tasks must be executed within the critical timelines with strong attention to detail, accuracy while ensuring all regulatory state and federal requirements are in compliance. The incumbent must be dedicated to teamwork, strong customer service and ability to multitask.

Must have strong problem resolution capabilities, with a commitment to process improvement. Additionally, this position will produce reports to requisite departments and management as appropriate and will assist in providing accounting services and expertise in the execution and/or development of accounting processes and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate and timely processing of the semi-monthly payroll specific to Provider Pay
  • Accurate and timely processing of Provider Incentives, Bonus, Guarantee Pay and Allowances
  • Responsible for meeting accelerated processing timelines driven by payroll and accounting processing
  • Responsible for researching and resolving payroll inquiries to all levels of the
  • Responsible for communicating procedures, practices and policies to regional management and employees. Facilitates management and employee understanding of pay, payroll processes, and production data impacting
  • Analyze current procedures and practices to look for efficiency, effectiveness, and opportunities to streamline processes amongst Payroll, Finance, and other key
  • Develops, recommends, and implements new approaches to payroll policies and procedures to effect continual improvements and efficiency within the
  • Responsible for testing system upgrades and system changes as it pertains to pay policies, practices and procedures for payroll and time and labor
  • Provide training to the regions for time and labor and Payroll self-service, as
  • Perform various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provide General Ledger support as
  • Conduct routine audits of all fields in the payroll system and assist with external audit requests as needed. Finalizes year‑end reconciliation audits and
  • Analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year‑end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for
  • Remain current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll. Enforce adherence to such requirements and advise management as necessary on required
  • Responsible for maintaining all doctor documentation related to Payroll as dictated by governing
  • Ensures accurate adherence to classification of doctors in accordance with the FLSA and state
  • Perform other duties as assigned my management or as may be necessary
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field, and 2+ years of relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience is required.
  • Knowledge of general payroll practices, Federal and State regulations, and SOX controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and general ledger journal entry processing.
Preferred
  • Experience in a multi-regional healthcare, retail, or dental
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
  • Master’s Degree or CPA preferred.
  • Experience in Ulti Pro Payroll or similar systems implementation
  • Advanced query writing
