Alliance Resource Group has exclusively partnered with a newly formed family office that is seeking to hire its first Family Office Controller. This individual will be responsible for establishing and streamlining the organization’s accounting policies and procedures.

Reporting directly to the principal, the Controller will oversee all accounting and finance functions and play a key strategic role in partnering with external service providers to ensure wealth preservation and long-term growth.

This is a unique ground-floor opportunity to build out the finance function of a family office and help design the infrastructure from the ground up.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the financial reporting, cash management and tax strategy focusing on wealth preservation and growth
• Coordinate preparation of financial books for family office structures
• Collaborate with external advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and investment managers, to execute family wealth management strategies
• Oversee compliance and risk management for the family office
• Assist in day-to-day operations of the family office, including budgeting, financial reporting, and investment monitoring
• Collaborate with accounting and investment professionals on live deals to calculate gain and determine tax structuring
• Lead comprehensive tax compliance and reporting for a diverse portfolio of private equity funds, family wealth structures, and investment vehicles, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and international tax laws
• Advise family members on philanthropic strategies
• Responsible for onboarding and maintaining technology platforms (Addepar, Know Ledger, Sage Intacct), including data migration, system integration, configuration, reporting setup, user training, and process development. Collaborate with trustees, real estate GPs, fund managers, and internal/external teams to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing system upkeep across domestic and international portfolios

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent
• At least 8 – 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally with a handful of years of experience in a family office or investment management setting.
• Experienced in real estate industry a plus
