Senior Associate – Corporate & M&A Tax

Location:

Los Angeles County, CA (Irvine area)

Senior Associates play an essential role in KPMG’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice, providing taxation strategy, due diligence and risk oversight to high‑profile clients across a broad range of industries.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, and all M&A related activities.
  • Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver due diligence and tax structuring services, communicating findings and opportunities to clients.
  • Assist clients with current issues such as bankruptcy emergence planning, out‑of‑court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, earnings and profits, and section 382 studies.
  • Engage with target companies’ finance/accounting departments and tax advisors to gather pertinent facts for tax‑risk analysis.
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff‑level team members.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in federal tax and/or M&A at a public accounting firm, corporate tax department, or law firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or JD, LL.M. in Taxation, MST) from an accredited college/university.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters across various industries.
  • Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
