Accounting Manager – Axos Bank

Target Range: $90,000.00 – $ per year. Eligible for Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus and Restricted Stock Units bonuses (target 10% each).

Axos seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the monthly close cycle for assigned entities, including subsidiaries, the parent holding company, and consolidated groups. The role ensures accurate financial results, maintains robust accounting records and internal controls, and upholds GAAP and SOX compliance. Responsibilities include managing a team of 1‑3 and overseeing 5‑7 companies.

• Maintain and update documented accounting policies, procedures, and process documents.
• Review and approve General Ledger maintenance transactions.
• Perform primary review of general ledger account reconciliations, including daily cash and intercompany transactions.
• Review and release specified manual journal entries.
• Implement accounting automations, including AI integration, to reduce manual processes.
• Execute month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
• Lead special projects as directed by senior management.
• Provide support for independent auditors, regulators, and internal auditors.
• Develop cradle‑to‑grave processes incorporating SOX requirements.
• Create analysis related to new regulatory or business model changes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CIA, or CMA certification.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in bank accounting or public accounting audits of banks.
• Experience with an ERP system, preferred Oracle and implementation.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills in a high‑growth environment.
• Business writing proficiency.
• Experience managing and/or training staff accountants.
• Multi‑company or consolidations experience.
• Proficiency with Oracle Smart View, Alteryx, Power BI, and advanced Excel.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
