An Entertainment company is seeking an Associate Editor to support communications across a major action gaming franchise. This role is ideal for someone who understands the editorial lifecycle within a live operations environment and thrives at the intersection of game development, community engagement, and marketing.
You will work closely with development teams as a liaison to the player community, helping translate complex game updates into clear, engaging communications while fostering trust and constructive dialogue with players.

Schedule:
Hybrid in Irvine - Monday and Friday remote
- Create and publish player-facing communications, including blogs, patch notes, in-game messages, and related content
- Contribute to content strategy and ongoing player communications, including active participation in community channels and reactive messaging
- Manage the full editorial lifecycle from draft through execution, including sourcing supporting assets and coordinating localization with regional teams
- Maintain editorial content calendars, milestones, and delivery schedules across cross-functional and regional stakeholders
- Establish feedback loops between players and development teams, synthesizing community sentiment, concerns, and insights into actionable reporting
- Adapt to shifting priorities and flexible work hours during key moments in development cycles and live operations
- Familiarity with action RPGs, including game mechanics, community channels, and content creators
- 2+ years of experience in product or brand communications and copywriting
- 2+ years of experience working with community and content distribution platforms and understanding their role in publishing and engagement strategies
- 2+ years of experience managing editorial publishing processes from draft to launch
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Project management training or hands-on experience
- Proficiency with content and project management tools such as Contentstack, Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, Sprinklr, or Wrike
- Existing familiarity or connections within established gaming communities
- Experience supporting mobile game communities and mobile gaming content
