Project Manager – Medical Device – Contract (Irvine, CA)
Akkodis is seeking a Project Manager – Medical Device for a contract position. The ideal candidate will manage project schedules, testing activities, engineering builds, and manufacturing line transfers within a regulated medical device environment.
Rate Range$43/hour to $47/hour; negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Project Manager (Medical Device)Job Responsibilities
- Perform project management activities including planning, developing, tracking schedules, and maintaining strong communication across teams.
- Conduct characterization and debugging activities;
Windchill knowledge is a plus. - Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to gain alignment on project plans, testing strategies, and product configuration.
- Coordinate with other projects to determine appropriate product configurations for validation and testing.
- Author and lead component development, engineering builds, verification, validation, and related activities through the Ethicon change control system.
- Drive manufacturing line transfer activities including tactical planning and logistics to mitigate obstacles.
- Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshoot issues occurring post‑transfer.
- Critically review test protocols and test reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Travel to various manufacturing plants to support transfer execution.
- Lead or support other Life‑Cycle Engineering (LCE) projects as needed.
- 4–6 years of experience in project management within medical device manufacturing or regulated industries.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in reading, writing, and presenting in English.
- Ability to multitask, retrieve information quickly, and respond effectively to customer requirements.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple project responsibilities.
- Ability to follow complex written procedures and function in a team‑based environment.
- Strong decision‑making ability and situational judgment for problem‑solving.
- Medical device component development experience required.
- Experience with New Product Development (NPD) and medical device regulatory knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.

Pay Details$43.00 to $47.00 per hour
