Biomedical Engineer, Medical Device Industry, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
The Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of biomedical equipment, including oxygen blenders, patient monitors, modules, infusion pumps, fetal ultrasound and TOCO devices, and telemetry devices. The ideal candidate will have experience with calibrating oxygen blenders and will be able to quickly troubleshoot and repair any issues that may arise. This role will work in an ISO 9001 and 13485 certified facility, ensuring that all repairs are performed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair biomedical equipment, especially oxygen blender calibration
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on oxygen blenders as needed
- Communicate effectively with other members of the biomedical engineering team and other departments within the facility
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed on equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Adhere to ISO 9001 and 13485 standards for quality and safety
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment repair, specifically with calibration and repair of oxygen blenders
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and 13485 standards preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to utilize computer systems
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
