MEP Superintendent (Facility Solutions Manager)

Location:

Irvine, CA (with travel across Southern California)

About the Role

Join a team delivering some of Southern California’s most complex and sustainable projects. As an MEP Superintendent (FSM), you’ll lead the commissioning and integration of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) systems across multiple large-scale commercial projects. This is a leadership role where technical depth, financial awareness, and scheduling expertise come together to ensure operational readiness.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Commissioning:
    Drive Level 4/5 testing and ensure systems meet operational standards.

  • Manage Trade Partners:
    Oversee MEPF subcontractors from planning through final testing.

  • Ensure Quality & Safety:
    Enforce rigorous standards across all MEP systems.

  • Schedule & Coordinate:
    Use Primavera P6 regularly to maintain and interpret project schedules.

  • Document & Deliver:
    Track inspections, resolve issues, and manage workflows through commissioning software.

  • Financial Awareness:
    Read budgets, work within them, and communicate dollar values effectively.

  • Mentor & Lead:
    Guide field engineers and champion Operational Project Readiness (OPR).

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience:

    10+ years in commercial construction with broad MEPF or commissioning focus.

  • Multi-Discipline Expertise:
    Experience across multiple MEPF systems (HVAC, fire protection, building controls, etc.)—two or more disciplines preferred.

  • Education:

    Degree in Facilities Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (not required).

  • Technical Depth:
    Expertise in critical environments (hospitals, airports, data centers).

  • Software

    Skills:

    MS Office, Adobe Cloud, Prolog, Primavera P6, Auto Desk Suite.

  • Leadership:
    Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building abilities.

  • Certifications:

    OSHA 10/30 and credentials like CxA, BCxP, LEED AP, or PE are nice-to-have but not mandatory.

Compensation & Perks
  • Salary: $120,000 – $160,000/year DOE

  • Benefits:

  • Relocation:
    Reimbursement available after joining for non-local candidates (no set package).

Role Logistics

  • Work Split:
    Approx. 50/50 field-to-office ratio, varying by project phase.

  • Projects:
    Support 15–25 projects of varying size across hospitals, airports, and education facilities.
