Electrical Engineer I – Military Flight Controls Division

The Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems for military and commercial applications and is headquartered in Irvine, California.
The position is an entry-level Electrical Engineer in the Parker Aerospace MFCD, working in the Engineering Test Laboratory. The engineer helps create and maintain customized laboratory equipment to perform tests on Parker products, including hydraulic flight-control actuators, hydraulic manifolds, electro-mechanical aircraft actuators, or electronic boxes. The engineer will be coached and mentored to design equipment, troubleshoot designs, and produce documentation per Parker’s best practices.
Reports will form the basis for aircraft certification decisions.
- Design, build, and maintain simple electrical and control systems using National Instruments hardware.
- Learn Parker’s LabVIEW software architecture and best practices to develop the ability to build and maintain control and data acquisition systems.
- Read and understand electrical and electronic schematics and circuits and make modifications and improvements.
- Perform hands-on repairs of existing equipment and instrumentation.
- Begin the process of learning about Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing.
- Assist Design Engineers with failure troubleshooting of the tested units when necessary.
- Provide test status to program management.
- Learn Parker’s processes and how they apply to product development and certification.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Computer skills (MS Office; programming experience a plus).
- Technical writing skills (procedures, reports).
- Knowledge of CAD software for 3D modeling and circuit design.
- Hands-on experience with electronics and electronic repair preferred.
- Experience with LabVIEW a plus.
