Embedded Software Engineer Job Description
The Embedded Software Engineer will support the development of multiple programs utilizing a diverse set of skills. The role primarily involves development in C, focusing on either Bare Metal development and/or Free RTOS. The engineer will collaborate closely with multiple wireless systems, including BLE, Wi‑Fi, and RF, while supporting device‑to‑cloud architectures.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain software in C for Bare Metal and Free RTOS environments.
- Collaborate with wireless systems including BLE, Wi‑Fi, and RF.
- Support device‑to‑cloud architectures.
- Engage with a small engineering team to support new product development (NPD).
- Work closely with machine learning technologies and integrate wireless technologies with device‑to‑cloud development.
- Proficiency in Embedded
C. - Experience with Bare Metal and/or Free RTOS development.
- Familiarity with BLE, Bluetooth, and wireless technologies.
- Knowledge of firmware and embedded Linux.
- Experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes and log analyzers.
- 3+ years of low‑level development experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in driver development is preferred.
- Embedded Linux experience is desired.
The position involves working in a small team of 8 engineers, consisting of 4 software engineers, 2 hardware engineers, and 2 mechanical engineers. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with machine learning technologies, combining wireless technologies with device‑to‑cloud development. The team environment is collaborative, focusing on innovation and new product development.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $90.00/hr.
