Project Geologist

Job Description

• Manage geotechnical projects, including meeting and interacting with clients and managing project budgets.
• Coordinate and participate in field activities: logging of borings, test pits, trenches, and cores.
• Perform down‑hole logging, geologic mapping, and review of stereoscopic aerial photographs.
• Prepare geologic cross sections and evaluate geologic and seismic hazards.
• Conduct forensic evaluation of distressed structures and failed slopes.
• Prepare geologic and geotechnical reports.
• Have experience with construction and grading activities, including as‑graded geological mapping.

• B.S./B.A./M.S. in Geology or Geological Engineering (or related field; not environmental science).

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree and a minimum of four years’ experience in geotechnical consulting.
• Local experience and familiarity with local geological conditions.
• Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional Geologist (PG) and/or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) registrations required.
