This is a full-time Reliability Engineer position, 40 hours a week, with a duration of 12 months and the possibility of extension. The job is onsite in Irvine, CA 92618, USA, and requires a US citizen or Green Card holder.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Reliability & Failure Analysis (FMEA/FMECA, Weibull, MTBF, root cause, fault tree), Data Analysis & Statistical Modelling (field data, maintenance logs, trend detection, reliability prediction), and Communication & Reporting (clear technical reports, dashboards, presentations for stakeholders). Experience in the aerospace/defense industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Data Gathering & Historical Analysis:
Collect and review relevant documentation, analyze historical failure data, and establish baseline reliability metrics for components and systems. - Reliability & Failure-Mode Analysis:
Lead and perform reliability assessments, conduct Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and perform root cause investigations of component & subsystem failures. - Monitoring & Reporting:
Monitor component and part performance, prepare regular reports and dashboards, and deliver ad hoc reports/investigations as required. - Standards, Procedures & Compliance:
Ensure 100% quality in analyzing events, align with aerospace industry standards, and maintain documentation and compliance in reporting formats.
- Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus. Certifications in Reliability and Maintainability are preferred. - Experience:
Typically 5-8+ years of relevant experience in reliability engineering/maintainability/failure analysis, especially in aerospace or defense domain. - Technical
Skills:
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with reliability tools and techniques, proficient in FMEA/FMECA, root cause analysis, and fault tree analysis. - Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication, and good organizational skills.
