Senior Utility Engineer

• Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout Southern California.
• Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, engineering plans and specifications for utility relocations.
• Work independently as well as assist medium‑to‑large teams of professionals and technicians depending on the project or task.
• Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and municipal clients.
• Perform other duties as needed.

• California PE certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans.
• Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans.
• Ability to prepare pipeline drawings: plan view, pipeline profiles, cross sections, and utility details.
• Experience delivering Caltrans drainage projects.
• Preference given to local candidates.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Project management skills desirable.
• Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignment preparation, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans.
• Experience coordinating survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items a plus.

Expected compensation range: $135,000 – $192,000 per year (depends on skills, experience, education and geographic location).
