Physical Security Engineer (Data zorg Centers)
Join Jacobs as a Physical Security Engineer (Data Centers). This role focuses on designing and implementing physical securityილად systems for data centers, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring project delivery on time.
Base pay range$ – $ per year.
Responsibilities- Conduct preliminary assessments and risk analyses for security projects.
- Create concepts, schematics, schedules, and plan drawings.
- Perform calculations for video storage, bandwidth usage, and power loads.
- Coordinate with architectural, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to resolve conflicts.
- Generate drawings and specifications.
- Assist in the commissioning and testing of security systems.
- Lead design efforts and support peers, SMEs, and BIM designers.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; master’s preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- 12+ years of professional experience in planning, designing, and commissioning physical security systems and/or communication networks.
- Strong knowledge of physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, biometric systems, and intrusion detection.
- Experience conducting vulnerability and risk assessments with multiple assessment methodologies.
- Ability to evaluate emerging security technologies and analyze trade‑offs (e.g., multi‑megapixel cameras vs. thermal imaging, radar vs. LIDAR).
- Understanding of network Soy technologies and cybersecurity principles.
- Professional security certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP) are a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player capable of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Micro Station, ACC, BIM
360. - Knowledge of CSI design and construction specifications.
- Experience plumbing estimating and scheduling mid‑to‑large‑scale project design effort.
Preferred Experience
- Leading projects and managing resources.
- Mentoring junior staff.
- Design management experience.
- Design experience in data centers.
