Join Interwest Consulting Group as a Senior Planner to be part of a high-performing team dedicated to delivering municipal services across the Western United States.

Interwest Consulting Group has served cities and counties for over 20 years, offering expertise in public works, building and safety, planning, engineering, and real‑estate acquisition.

• Process development entitlement applications
• Update zoning code and development standards
• Assist with or complete planning studies
• Oversee CEQA review of projects, possibly including preparation of IS/MNDs
• Generally support local agency planning departments
• Advance / policy planning, state and federal permitting procedures, and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) as required.
• Experience working for a city or county planning agency in California (as staff or consultant) with processing moderately to highly complex development applications is required.

• Independent worker with strong customer‑service orientation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports / projects
• Creative problem‑solver
• Ability to handle multiple projects or issues simultaneously
• Project management skills and ability to meet firm deadlines

• Bachelor’s degree in planning, landscape architecture, public administration, geography, architecture, civil engineering, environmental sciences, or a closely related field
• 7+ years of substantial planning work in California planning agencies

Salary Range: $90,000 – $125,000
