Black & Veatch is seeking a Biosolids/Residuals Practice Leader – West Coast to join our Process Engineering Team in California.

• Serve as a “seller‑doer,” collaborating with Client Directors to drive growth in the biosolids practice.
• Lead delivery of high‑quality study and design work as a platform for future growth.
• Focus primarily on the California, Southwest and Pacific Northwest markets; engage nationally and internationally as needed.
• Stay current on industry trends and client needs to inform growth strategies.
• Support strategy and growth initiatives and participate in thought leadership activities.
• Play a vital role in business development, including pursuit strategy, pre‑positioning, proposal development and project interviews.
• Serve as technical advisor to design teams and clients throughout design, construction, startup, commissioning and operations.
• Drive joint accountability for project execution and safety performance.
• Mentor, supervise and build capabilities of team members.
• Develop cutting‑edge solutions critical to company success.

• MS or PhD in Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years in a lead role related to biosolids projects and pursuits.
• Experience with client development.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure for Engineer of Record (EOR) in applicable jurisdictions.

• Active Engineering Registration or Licensure (PE) to support EOR requirements.

Salary: $156,288 – $296,600 (annually)
Grade: 017 (Registered Engineering)
