Your impact as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer will span the entire design process for data‑center buildings, including structured cabling, wireless, audio/visual and other low‑voltage systems. This opportunity is available for employees across the United States, ideally near a Jacobs U.S. office.

The Senior Telecommunications Engineer will work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring they are completed on time, and may lead projects depending on bandwidth. In addition to technical design leadership, you will mentor junior team members and work closely with clients and internal stakeholders.

• Lead BIM designers in the preparation of engineering drawings.
• Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Sign and seal telecommunications design packages.
• Mentor other team members.
• Collaborate with lead engineers and/or department managers to identify process improvements.
• Serve as EoR for designs and provide coverage for project leads when required.
• Depending on bandwidth, lead design projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for telecommunications structured cabling systems.
• Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI, NFPA 70 standards.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Familiarity with responding to RFPs.
• Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others.
• Experience with start‑up and commissioning of telecommunications systems.
• Experience creating and maintaining a project budget and schedule.
• Experience identifying and mitigating company risk.
• PE license required; ability to obtain multiple PE licenses is a must.

• 4 years of telecommunications design experience in data centers.
• Experience working on other low‑voltage systems such as security, audio/visual, wireless.
• Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms.
• Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems.
• Thorough knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures.
• Credential as an RCDD.
