This Opportunity
WSP is initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Transportation Planning for the Southern California geography, based in Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, Oakland, or San Francisco. This is a key strategic role as we continue to strengthen and expand our transportation planning practice locally.

- Grow market share to become the preferred, trusted advisor to clients; manage local client coordination and support cross-selling with Local and Regional leadership and Pursuit Management.
- Attend civic and industry events, conferences, and forums (e.g., WTS, APA, ACEC, Chamber of Commerce).
- Leverage full suite of offerings across end markets to provide integrated, innovative client delivery.
- Collaborate with Business Line Leaders to access regional SMEs and drive new business opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture; emphasize training and development; promote WSP externally to ensure strong engagement and morale.
- Coordinate with leads and specialists in other lines and regions to engage in projects and pursuits and leverage staff support.
- Drive local growth strategy, oversee performance metrics including KPIs such as Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staffing, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, and Inclusion & Diversity.
- Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Policy, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry focused on infrastructure projects.
- Experience with environmental services as a consultant or client, developing scopes of work, directing work, and responding to RFPs/RFQs.
- Leadership experience, accountability, persistence, and growth mindset.
- Ability to innovate and rethink client and employee engagement approaches.
- Strong business acumen and decision-making, strategic thinking, and business development capabilities.
- Established client relationships and local market contacts to lead pursuits and proposals.
- Commitment to internal and external client service; ethical decision-making per WSP Code of Conduct.
- Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Master’s Degree is preferred.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $99,100 - $176,550. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range based on circumstances and internal equity.
