Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects.

• Qualified candidate should have basic knowledge in industrial power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
• Candidate should have basic working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
• Candidate must have good communication skills, including interaction with senior engineers, clients, and contractors.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Support the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects for water and wastewater facilities.
• Prepare project specifications.
• Perform conductor sizing, conduit sizing, protective device sizing, lighting, and other electrical calculations.
• Coordinate with civil, process‑mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Perform site visits as needed.
• Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project.
• Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project.
• Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information.
• Support the lead electrical engineer to perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project.

Minimum Professional

Qualification:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial Electrical Engineering and Design; prior experience in water/wastewater industry is desirable.
• Familiarity with industrial power distribution system.
• Experience in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software is desirable.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software is desirable.
• EIT certification is desirable.
