Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a candidate to provide electrical engineering and design for water and wastewater facility projects.
- Qualified candidate should have basic knowledge in industrial power design, including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, generator design, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
- Candidate should have basic working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
- Candidate must have good communication skills, including interaction with senior engineers, clients, and contractors.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Support the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects for water and wastewater facilities.
- Prepare project specifications.
- Perform conductor sizing, conduit sizing, protective device sizing, lighting, and other electrical calculations.
- Coordinate with civil, process‑mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Perform site visits as needed.
- Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project.
- Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project.
- Review shop drawings and respond to requests for information.
- Support the lead electrical engineer to perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project.
Minimum Professional
Qualification:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 3‑5 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial Electrical Engineering and Design; prior experience in water/wastewater industry is desirable.
- Familiarity with industrial power distribution system.
- Experience in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software is desirable.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software is desirable.
- EIT certification is desirable.
